What is the Just Dial Toolbar for Firefox?

The Just Dial Toolbar is a Firefox extension designed to help you quickly search on Just Dial directly from your browser instead of visiting the website each time you want to search. It is meant for usage on Firefox 2.0 and above and is optimized for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

How do I install the Just Dial Toolbar?

Follow the steps below to install the Just Dial Toolbar:

1 Click on the Download Just Dial Toolbar for Firefox button on the download page.

2 A Terms and Conditions page will appear in a new window. Read it carefully and then click Accept to proceed with the installation.

3 See if an installation window appears. Wait for the countdown timer on the install button to complete and proceed to step 7. If installation window does not appear proceed to step4.

4 Locate the yellow band as shown below:

Click on Edit Options.

5 An add sites window appears. Click on Allow to allow Justdial to install the Justdial Toolbar. Then click Close.

6 Click on the download now button below and proceed to step 3 again.

7 Click on the Install Now button when the countdown has completed.

Please note: If you do not see Justdial Private Limited written inside the window as shown above, then please do not proceed with installation as this file would would not have been issued by us. It could be a malicious file issued by an unknown entity which could cause potential damage to your system and/or retrieve private information from your system.

The toolbar installation will proceed with the progress being shown by a progress bar.

8 When the installation is complete, click on Restart Firefox. Don't worry about your websites which are already open, Firefox will restore them for you on restart.

9 Firefox will reopen with your previously opened sites restored and the Just Dial toolbar will appear as shown below.

What to do if the Just Dial Toolbar doesn't install and Firefox doesn't start up?

Don't worry. It can be fixed. Sometimes while installing Firefox extensions, Firefox may crash. To fix all such related problems the problem visit:

Justdial toolbar is known to crash Firefox when Google Toolbar is installed. Starting Firefox in safe mode and uninstalling or disabling either the Justdial Toolbar or Google Toolbar is a way around this problem. Both do not function together as of now. How do I use the Just Dial Toolbar?

The Just Dial Toolbar is pretty intuitive to use. If you place your mouse over any of the objects in the toolbar, you will get a help text for it below the mouse pointer.

1. Select the city you want to search in by clicking the drop down box and then choosing a city from the drop down menu.

2. Depending on what you are looking for select a search type by clicking on the next button and choosing an option from the menu below. If you are looking for a product or service like laundry, sweet shop, computer repair, cooking class etc. then choose Product/Service. If you are looking for a company or name like Honda, Brijwasi Sweets, Band Box Dry Cleaners etc. then choose Company/Name.

3. In the text box enter the words that you are searching for.

4. Click on Go to see the results of your search.

There are some more buttons which navigate you to the different sections of the Just Dial web site which take you to different sections of the website.

The Just Dial button will take you the the Just Dial Homepage.

You can click on Eatout, Hotels and Movies button to obtain information on Restaurants,Hotels and Cinema Halls.

How do I uninstall the Just Dial Toolbar?

1. Click on Tools in the Firefox menubar.

2. If you�re running Firefox 2 and above, select Addons Otherwise, select Extensions.

3. A window appears with all installed Add ons/ Extensions listed as shown below:

Select Just Dial Toolbar and click on the Uninstall button.

4. Restart Firefox to complete the uninstallation process.

How do I update the Just Dial Toolbar?

The Just Dial Toolbar updates by itself everytime Firefox starts. This feature has been included to automatically fix bugs and provide new features on the toolbar as and when they become available.

However if you want to manually update the toolbar you can follow these steps:

1. Click on Tools in the Firefox menubar.

2. If you�re running Firefox 2 and above, select Addons Otherwise, select Extensions.

3. A window appears with a list of all the installed extensions. One of the two things may happen::

a) Firefox would have already found an update for the toolbar and when the window appears you will get a message saying that the toolbar will be updated the next time you start Firefox like the one below:

If such be the case then you need not proceed to step 3. You can restart Firefox right away and update the toolbar.

b) Firefox hasn't found the update and you may get a window like the one below. If such be the case, click on the Find Updates button and proceed to the next step.

4. Please wait as Firefox checks for updates. This might take a while depending on the number of extensions you have installed and the speed of your network connection.

5. Once updates are found for each extension, Firefox will indicate whether they are available. Make sure the Include this Update box is checked. Click on the Install Updates button.
